Thousands of Court Cases Fixed in Luzerne County

Posted by Larry Hohol on Saturday, December 10, 2011, In : Current News
I am trying to think back over the decades of how many civil and criminal cases have been fixed in Luzerne County. It is mind boggling. The Citizen's Voice caught a number of huge breaks here. Judge Ciavarella being found guilty of corruption is on the top of the list. Another break is that the Voice had deep enough pockets to continue on for almost a decade. The scariest part of all of this is the fact that NONE of the safety nets worked. The Appeals Court rubber stamped Ciavarella's origina...

Attorney Who Bribed Judges Has Date Set for Sentencing

Posted by Larry Hohol on Thursday, September 29, 2011, In : Current News
Can someone.......anyone, please explain to me how Attorney Powell took $770,000 out of his company's cash flow and his business partner DID NOT NOTICE???? In the REAL world this would be so close to impossible that it would not even be considered, yet the US Attorney wants us all to believe that Powell's partner didn't know anything about it. How was it handled on the tax return for the company? I am here to tell you that if $770,000.00 was missing from my company's cash flow and I suspected...

Though convicted, corrupt officials not yet behind bars

Posted by Larry Hohol on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, In : Current News
And the band plays on. Way back when Judge Kosik rejected Ex-Judge Conahan and Ciavarella’s plea deal there was dancing in the streets.  At that time I publicly voiced my concerns. I said Judge Kosik wasn't doing anyone a favor except for Conahan and Ciavarella by rejecting their pleas.  Once again I will voice my concerns and make a prediction or two.  My concerns are “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied”.   There is nothing anyone can now do about the extremely slow turning of the wheel...

Convicted Judge Ciavarella gives up fight for $250,000 Pension

Posted by Larry Hohol on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, In : Current News
So at this point in time you would think a legislator like State Senator Lisa Baker would introduce legislation that would once and for all address judges and politicians trying to collect state pensions after committing crimes while in office.  That, my friends, would be meaningful legislation.  Instead, this subject will be ignored and the next time something like this happens AGAIN (and it will) everyone, including Senator Baker will act like it has never happened before and no one knows w...

Luzerne County Common Pleas Judge Michael Toole Sentenced to Federal Penitentiary - This isn’t a Disney Movie

Posted by Larry Hohol on Sunday, April 10, 2011, In : Current News
I would love to be the first to tell everyone that with the 30 month prison term of Ex-Judge Michael Toole, we can all now live “happily ever after”, but I can’t.  Compared to the massive corruption that has occurred in the Luzerne County Courthouse over the past century what Ex-Judge Toole has been sentenced for here is mere “Childs Play”.  Not reporting a $30,000.00 finder’s fee (that’s code for a bribe) and using a vacation home a few times for free is NOTHING compared to the...

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Will Never Reverse Judge Lokuta Decision - Doing So Would Implicate the Supreme Court Itself

Posted by Larry Hohol on Monday, January 31, 2011, In : Current News
Upwards of 40 Complaints filed against Conahan and Ciavarella and all were dismissed by the Judicial Conduct Board when in fact C&C admitted they were committing unspeakable felonies while on the bench. Most of the witnesses who testified against Judge Lokuta have been arrested, removed from office, or worked directly for those who have. The Chairman of the Judicial Conduct Board was business partners with Conahan. Attorney Dick Sprague who spearheaded the removal of Judge Lokuta while sittin...

Were the proceedings to remove Judge Lokuta tainted?

Posted by Larry Hohol on Saturday, January 15, 2011, In : Current News
Were the proceedings to remove Judge Lokuta tainted?  That is the real question here.  The Chairman of the Judicial Conduct Board was business partners in TWO businesses with the now indicted Judge Conahan.  Most of the 30 individuals that testified against Judge Lokuta worked directly for Conahan and Ciavarella and some of them have since also been indicted on corruption charges.  Upwards of 40 complaints had been filed against Conahan and Ciavarella prior to the Lokuta proceedings including...

Congressman Kanjorski said about a Man Campaigning for Governor: “Put Him Against the wall and Shoot Him!”

Posted by Larry Hohol on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, In : Current News
Imagine Kanjorski calling someone else...  anyone else, A CROOK!  I don’t think anyone out there thinks that he meant what he said on most subjects let alone this one.  I believe he literally didn’t want to take Governor Rick Scott out and put him against a wall and shoot him, however he did say it and it is called rhetoric. Anti-rhetoric is what all the politians who are trying to make hay with these days and are using it to bash their opposition.  Kanjorski must not have gotten the memo...

Wilkes-Barre Area School District Board Members should be embarrassed... But they're not!

Posted by Larry Hohol on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, In : Current News
The Wilkes-Barre School District should change the name of the Daniel J. Flood Elementary School to the Major Richard Winters Elementary School.  Major Winters is a true American Hero and I would never ask a son of mine to grow up and be just like Congressman Flood.  God bless America.

The Times-Leader article: 'Band of Brothers" Inspiration Winters Dies at 92

Where Paul Kanjorski Should Spend His Golden Years

Posted by Larry Hohol on Monday, January 10, 2011, In : Current News
In a new Scranton Times-Tribune interview Paul Kanjorski ADMITS that there is widespread corruption in his district.  Imagine that!

I have a question.  In the two plus decades that Mr. Kanjorski served as our Congressman, what did he do about this widespread corruption?  At best, NOTHING.  At worst, he participated in it.  Why didn’t the best and brightest of Corporate America want to participate in the development of Water Jet Technology?  The answer is because it had already been develope...

I'm Not a Fan of Judge Lokuta, BUT....

Posted by Larry Hohol on Saturday, January 1, 2011, In : Current News
My comments about Judge Lokuta have stirred some impassioned reactions from readers of my newspaper article comments and my blog.

Let me make it clear.  I am not a fan of Judge Lokuta.  That being said, we know that a number of people who testified against Judge Lokuta were committing felonies at the same time they testified against her.  We also know that the Chairman of the Judicial Conduct Board was business partners in TWO businesses with one of those admitted felons (Conahan) thus creatin...

The Lynching of Judge Lokuta

Posted by Larry Hohol on Sunday, December 12, 2010, In : Current News
Whether you love Judge Lokuta or you hate Judge Lokuta, what happened to her was a modern day lynching. I have no confidence that the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania will do the right thing here as they themselves are part of the problem. I believe the proceedings that removed her from the bench were tainted. No that's too politically correct. I believe that the proceedings that removed Judge Lokuta from the bench were fixed and fixed in a big, big way. I also believe that not only had Conahan ...
